Top Players Gather for BISFed 2019 Hong Kong Boccia World Open
BISFed 2019 Hong Kong Boccia World Open will start tomorrow (15 May) at Ma On Shan Sports Centre. The participating athletes can gain world ranking points towards qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. 90 top athletes from 18 countries and territories will compete across 7 events including BC1, BC2, BC3 and BC4 Individual, BC1/BC2 Team, BC3 and BC4 Pairs.
All participating teams have arrived Hong Kong and undertook training, classification and equipment check from 13 to 14 May. Four individual World No.1 athletes, David Smith (Great Britain), Worawut Saengampa (Thailand), Grigorios Polychronidis (Greece), Euclides Grisales (Colombia) and team and pairs world no.1, players of BC1/BC2 Team from Thailand and BC3 Pairs from Greece are expected to deliver impressive performances at the competition arena. Hong Kong team, eyeing a podium finish, is ready to roar on home ground.
